How to survive a death kiteloop

he name says it all a death kiteloop is a dangerous situation that can arise during kite surfing. Although modern kitesurfing materials attach great importance to safety, an unpleasant situation such as the death Kiteloop can always arise.

Think about your safety first

Anton Chernyshov Made a YouTube video about how to survive a death kite loop while kitesurfing. It seems rather simple in the video, but if you are in a raging sea it is quite a different story than Anton outlines here. Nevertheless, it is useful to know what you really shouldn’t or should do.

Keep in mind that every situation is different and you can always release your kite completely. Material is replaceable, you are not! You can carry a Personal Locator Beacon for your safety.

What is a kiteloop?

A  kite loop is a way with which you make the kite a rotation (looping) of 360 degrees. Kitesurfers make a loop with their kite when they are in the air. The kite then enters the power zone and generates a lot of power, making it look like you are being shot with a slingshot.

Not for beginners

Kitelooping is not something for beginners, but for the advanced kite surfer. It is important that you have full control over the kite and know what you are doing. If you have experience with high jumps then you can take your first kiteloop.
