Do you want to strengthen your muscles for kite surfing? Making an Indoboard yourself is a lot cheaper than buying. Read here how you can easily make a balance board yourself!

Make Indoboard yourself to strengthen muscles.

Indoboard is a balance board that is widely used by board athetes to train their leg muscles and also to do balance exercises. Strong thigh muscles prevent knee injuries and other discomfort during kite surfing.

Indoboard is made for indoor training (hence the name: indo) and the principle is quite simple. An oval wooden board on a roll cushion makes the balance board a great training device that you can use anywhere in the house.

I recommend that you place a mat under the whole to protect your floor and possibly against noise from the neighbors below.

Buy Indoboard or make your own

The boards are not really cheap. If you are a bit handy you can make one yourself. They are also regularly on Marktplaats ov Ebay for sale at a favorable price.

If you are going to make one yourself, you will need this:

  • Old skateboard deck
  • PVC pipe with a diameter of 20 cm
  • Wood screws
  • Piece of plywood
  • Saw
  • Wood glue

1. Put a piece of plywood on both ends of the skateboard deck as a brake for the PVC pipe.

2. Cut the PVC pipe to the same width as the skateboard deck.

3. Place the skateboard deck on the PVC tube and balance 🙂

Maybe not as fancy as an original indoboard, but just as effective!
