Kitesurfing spot description
On the Belgian coast you can only kite at a Beach Club. Here is that Surfclub Surfing Elephant.
At the end of the paved Zeedijk 30 meters further on the beach you run into the club. At low tide there is a lovely wide beach here.
You buy a day membership at the club for 20 euros. You are then insured for accidents and damage. (this is mandatory in Belgium). Your own extreme sports insurance is therefore not sufficient.
You also get access to the accommodation: dressing room, shower, compressor, discount at the bar and most importantly: a ribbon (so-called talis) that you must wear visibly on your harness. If you do not have a ribbon, you are kindly requested to leave the kite spot.
If necessary, the water sports club also provides the rescue service with a water scooter.
The insert zone is indicated at the club (insteek zone). Sometimes it is divided into a beginner and advanced zone.
