Kitesurfing spot description
On the Belgian coast you can only kite at a Beach Club. Here is Watersportclub De Windhaan.
At the end of the paved dune path, walk for 30 meters and then immediately to the right, down the dune. You will find the club on your left.
You buy a day membership for 20 euros. You are then insured for accidents and damage. (this is mandatory in Belgium). Your own (Dutch) extreme sports insurance is therefore not sufficient.
You get access to the accommodation: dressing room, shower, compressor, discount at the bar and most importantly: a ribbon (so-called talis) that you must wear visibly on your harness. If you do not have a ribbon, you are kindly requested to leave the kite spot.
If necessary, the water sports club also provides the rescue service with a water scooter.
The insert zone is indicated at the club (the kite zone). Sometimes it is divided into a beginner and advanced zone.
