Description kitesurf spot Borssele
Around the corner from the nuclear power plant is a quiet kite surfing spot on the Westerschelde. You can stand up to 100 meters between the breakwaters. Yes it is really true, you can kite surf on the cooling water of the plant, which makes the water slightly warmer than the rest of the North Sea. You can of course question this, but there are no known cases that you are going to give light after a session ;-). You can park directly on the beach, which is always nice and it is also warmer in winter There is a row of sharp stones on either side of the mouth. These are visible at low tide, but they are below at high tide! The water is quite choppy, which can be difficult for a beginner, but with a little perseverance it should still work. Beware of oysters that are sharp! (Better shoes on)
Pay attention !!
The kite spot is demarcated with yellow buoys. You can’t get past that. The fairway for professional shipping is indicated with red buoys, you can also avoid that.
