Kitespot IJburg Closed!!!
At this moment the kite spot is closed. Due to the construction of IJburg 3, it is too dangerous to kite surf here. Underwater cables are stretched that you cannot see.
Kitesurf spot IJburg is located in Amsterdam near the IJmeer. It is a real locals spot where you can only ride from East to North-East. And even then you have to be able to sail well upwind to be able to return. So only for advanced. The obstacles in the water also ensure that these are not a beginner’s spot. Behind the dike you will find mirror-smooth water, which is ideal for showing off your skills. There is a beach for launching and landing the kite. Watch out for other bathers, they can be here, Kiters are tolerated 😉
The atmosphere is very chill. You notice that it is a city beach. Pay close attention to your belongings and make sure there is nothing valuable on the beach or in the car. Kiters also pay attention to each other’s things that are on the beach.
There is a catering tent where you can eat and drink afterwards or between sessions. you also have a great view of the kitesurfing spot and because the locals show their best moves , you get to see very nice jumps.
