Why Visit?
Noord-Holland has a coastline from 260km long with large sandy beaches and enough space to kite. In The summer there are lots of tourists. The whole coastline from Zandvoort to Den Helder has some beautiful kite-spots.
Wind and Weather
Most of the time, the wind blows from the South-West, which is great for kitesurfing at the North Sea. The wind is side shore or side on shore in Noord-Holland. What more do you want 😉
The North Sea has low- and hight-tides, both ar kite-able, but with low-tide the waves are easier to catch. The North Sea has also short breaking waves.
Save kiting at Noord-Holland:
When the wind is blowing from the East it’s better to go to the IJsselmeer, it’s on the other side of Noord-Holland. The weather is typical Dutch. The Summer has an average of 18-22 degrees Celsius.
Getting Around
Kitespots like IJmuiden and Wijk aan Zee can be reached by car, it’s 30 minutes’ drive from Amsterdam. Kitespots in Zandvoort can also reached by train, then you have to walk 15 minutes to the beach. There are trains from Amsterdam to Zandvoort which is about 25 minutes ride.
Food and Drink
All kitespots located at the North Sea have restaurants at the beach. Here you can buy food and drinks for a reasonable price. Spots like IJmuiden and Wijk aan Zee have multiple restaurants at the beach, each with its own vibe. Zandvoort is a real tourist place which lots of restaurants, bars and places to sleep.
Nightlife
When you want to enjoy the nightlife in Noord-Holland? Amsterdam is the place to be. Here you can party 24/7, but if you want to stay near the beach, Zandvoort and Bloemendaal have really good nightlife as well. Bloemendaal has some pretty famous party’s and beach clubs during the Summer season, like Woodstock, Bloomingdale, de Republiek and Vroeger.
No Wind?
No wind, no problem. At the beach there are lots of other activities. In Wijk aan Zee you can surf or sup. In Schoorl there is one of the best Dutch mountainbike tracks. But there are also beautiful walking routes in the dunes from Noord-Holland and an 18 holes discgolf-course.

Fast and free WIFI at most of the accommodations. Some beaches have free open WIFI spots.
