Let's add a little perspective to this question. The "good" and "bad" labels are misleading. It is by far, the most recognized sailing event to the general public; is that good or bad? The event generates far more revenue for several venues (merchants, advertisers, etc.) than any other sailing event; is that good or bad? The equipment technology that comes out of the A/C events is far greater than any other sailing event; is that good or bad for the sport? Until another sailing event approaches this level of public recognition or contribution to the sport, I'd say keep it going.
A/C Still the most recognized sailing even to the general public
